Kinja'd!!!

I almost forgot that a month ago I ordered one of the dashcams from Jason's review on eBay. It arrived today finally, just in time to log my upcoming Christmas trip back to family during what promises to be a snowy drive. Rental cars have good tires, right? Uh oh...

I think it's this one , but since they all look alike, it's really hard to tell.

I gotta drive about the same amount this weekend and we are scheduled for a whole lot of suck. I hope there isn't as much ice as they predict but I'm afraid we're in for it.

Edit - my drive is only about 200 km. I misread.

Good luck. You might need it.

I feel terrible that I do this amount of driving every day.

I used to commute 160-170 km/day. Not a fun thing to do.

It's my own fault. I moved closer to my family and further from my work. My job is moving so that will shave off 25% of the drive, but still pretty atrocious. I find living close to family to be worth it though. It's all highway driving; which isn't terrible.

Mine was the same. I had the ability to live at home for a co-op semester so I took it. If the drive had been any longer or involved any more traffic I wouldn't have done it. It was also only for 4 months and I enjoyed the dark, quiet drive drive in the morning so it was liveable.

You can't do that for too long. You'll rack up so much mileage on your car really quickly. I think I put on almost 18000km in those 4 months. That would come to 200K km in 4 years just commuting and that's too much.

I can see where you're coming from though. I don't want to live too far from the area I call home either. I'll take a commute. I don't know if I want to do 160+ km/day again, but I'll gladly do some mileage.

True. I'm going to have to live with decision for at very minimum a year. I know I'll probably put on 48,000 or so km a year, but I may be able to cut it down by working from home one day a week. I'm waiting to ask my boss until after our reviews haha.

Haha, good strategy, best of luck with that.

That camera looks like one of those cheap Chinese Dash Cams you can find all over Ebay for $19-$20.00. I have purchased a few, they will work for a short while until they either freeze up or the power cord will break. Also, you will find out soon, they interfere with your Garmin GPS signal (making it unusable) and also with your radio reception. I am still looking for a good, cheap Dash Cam,,any suggestions?

I tried hard to find the camera that Jason recommended in his review , but with so many knockoffs and minimal model identification, it's hard to tell if I actually got the right now. So far I haven't noticed much radio interference but I should find out if it'll last after my drive this weekend.
